Travel on the Fitzroy Island Ferry where you have ah an hour to explore Fitzroy Island's lush tropical rainforest and boasting granite outcrops, open woodlands, mangroves and coral beaches, it's no wonder Fitzroy island is 99% National Park. Walk to the lighthouse, relax at the famous Nudey Beach - voted the best beach in Australia, or visit the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre; a voluntary non-profit organisation that rehabilitates sick and injured turtles back to health.

The state-of-the art Moore Reef Marine Base is perfectly positioned and fully equipped so that any age or ability can fully experience the magic of the reef with its abundance of colourful coral, fascinating fish, turtles & more.
Enjoy a day onboard a new multi-level pontoon at Moore Reef, complete with sundeck and the only theme-park style water slide on the reef.
The base is 50 metres long with a capacity of up to 400 people, and was recently refurbished and enhanced to now feature a large upper-level sundeck.

If you really want to get close to the amazing coral and marine life of the Great Barrier Reef, join an introductory scuba dive program. All of our instructors are PADI qualified and experienced so you can immerse yourself in the reef up close, even without prior dive knowledge.

Seawalker Helmet Dive
Seawalker Platform Helmet diving is a great way to get up close and personal with different marine species without even getting your hair wet. Enjoy the amazing sensation of the underwater world with a platform walk through an amazing Fan-Coral garden where you will find hundreds of different species of fish, you may even get a chance to have your photo taken with Dolla the Turtle or Wally the Maori Wrasse. Seawalker has been designed to introduce people to the excitement of the underwater world, even without any prior dive knowledge or experience. You will be guided on your adventure by one of our qualified Seawalker diving instructors. Unlike traditional scuba diving, Seawalker enables you to breathe through your nose and mouth as you would above water. Seawalker also allows you to keep your face and hair dry while you experience the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. All the excitement of scuba diving and ideal for non-swimmers.
