After 16:00 will be only on request base and prior booking is required. ● Single professional photo which can include one person or a group with only one person holding the koala. ● Child Koala Holding Criteria It is ultimately at the Koala Handlers discretion on the day if a guest can safely and securely hold a koala unassisted. Some guests may require assistance based on the following criteria : 1) Height - children must be over 140cm and 12 years old to hold a koala 2) Size age, weight and temperament of the koala - each koala we use will vary in size and a child may be able to hold even filling this criteria, it will be assessed on a case by case scenario always putting koala welfare first. 3) Confidence of the child - handlers need to be able to see that the child is confident and willing to hold the koala without being pushed and is not being forced by a parent or friend to do so. 4) Behavioural traits and history of the koala – certain koalas do not have the personality, experience and confidence around children and are not suitable for children holding or attempting to hold. These animals may or may not have a history of being fidgety, reaching up, gripping too tightly or just generally not being a suitable choice for small children’s photographs. It is at the Koala keeper’s discretion as to whether the child and koala are suitable for meeting the holding criteria, ensuring that our koalas and your child's welfare is looked after and that they are placed in a safe situation for both our guest and the animal. ● When a Koala Handler determines a guest will require assistance with holding a koala one of two options will be offered: 1) A Tree photo. Meet and greet your koala. Koala will safely sit in fork of tree prop and guest can stand next to koala and stroke its back for a professional photo. 2) Professional family/group photo. Meet and greet your koala. A suitable member of the family/group can hold the koala whilst other guest/s can stand next to koala stroke its back for a professional photo. |
