How to get there | ● By Car It takes approximately 2 hours to drive from the central business district (CBD) of Adelaide to Cape Jervis. You are required to check in at least 30 minutes prior to departure, so you therefore should allow 2.5 hours if you are driving from the Adelaide CBD. Safe, secure day and longer-term car parking is available at Cape Jervis right near the SeaLink Terminal. The car park opens prior to the first ferry departure and is locked after the last departure arrives from Penneshaw. Parking fees apply. |

Check-in requirements | Please ensure you arrive at the ferry terminal 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time to allow enough time to check in. Regrettably, failure to arrive before this time will most likely be classified as no-show and result in forfeiting the booking and it cannot be refunded or transferred. If you are not familiar with the area or travelling on a weekend or local public holidays / school holidays, please make sure you've checked your timetable or driving route beforehand, and allow extra travelling time for unexpected delays to ensure you do not miss your check in On arrival at the ferry terminal please proceed to the check-in counter with your booking reference number or provide your surname. You will be presented with a boarding pass for each passenger travelling. |

Other info | ● Luggage If you are travelling with carry-on luggage only, you may deposit this into the luggage van prior to boarding. The luggage van parks directly outside the terminal. You can collect your luggage on arrival. No dangerous goods or freight will be carried in the luggage van. ● Items that cannot be brought to Kangaroo Island Please do not bring these items to Kangaroo Island, they are prohibited and significant penalties will apply - honey products, bee handling equipment, potatoes, grape vine cuttings and soil, rabbits and foxes. ● Trip time is approximately 45 minutes. Please note that on some sailings, the ferry terminal may not be open. In these cases, the ferry crew will conduct the check-in for you. ● Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available on board ferries and in the ferry terminals. ● Guests can take dog or cat on the ferry at no charge. Passengers with pets are only allowed on the top deck of the vessel which has an indoor and outdoor area. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animal's waste. Guide dogs, hearing dogs, assistance dogs and service dogs, including those in training, are permitted throughout the terminals and vessels and containment requirements do not apply. ● Ferries are wheel chair and disabled friendly. |

The two modern, air-conditioned car and passenger ferries, Sealion 2000 and Spirit of Kangaroo Island take just 45 minutes to cross Backstairs Passage between Cape Jervis and Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island.
Both ferries are twin-hulled catamaran ferries complete with air-conditioned lounges, comfortable lounge or café style seating, a licensed café serving great cappuccinos and fresh snacks, outdoor viewing decks, wheelchair access, disabled toilets and baby change facilities.
